Scale Fingerings and Progressions for Soloing/Improvisation Practice

Here is a chance to work on soloing and improvisation. I have scales in all major and natural minor keys and practice progressions to help develop your improvisatory skills.

Major/Natural Minor Scale Fingerings

These pages of scales are in Adobe Acrobat .pdf format. If you don't already have the free Adobe Acrobat Reader installed, click here to get it. Please note that the keys of F#/D#m, Cb/Abm and C#/A#m are not included because they are fingered the same respectively as Gb/Dbm, B/G#m and Db/Bbm.

Major Scale Practice Progressions

Use these .mp3 files as accompaniment for improvising using major scales in the key of each progression. These are all I-vi-ii-V progressions. All are in 4/4 time except the Key of Eb which is in 3/4 time.
