Downloadable Freeware Music Performance Aids

Here are four freeware programs that my students have found to be useful. All four have been saved in .zip format. Windows XP has a built in extractor, otherwise use a commercial extractor such as Winzip or PKZIP. Click on the links below to download the files.

• Vanbasco's Karaoke Player - A midi player that allows you to change speed and pitch of midi files. Also doubles as a karaoke player.
• Weird Metronome - A simple yet effective metronome.
• Best Practice - A program to slow down and/or transpose CD tracks, MP3 files, and wave files.
• Audiograbber - An excellent program for ripping tracks from CD's, now also free!
